One Down With Nine To Go…
I’m hoping that this blog entry’s title ends up fulfilling its potential for pleasure. The “one” I’m referring to is the Gay Video Box site with the “nine” being those remaining from my 2006 Top Ten list. As indicated in my last blog entry, what with the end of the year not too far off, I need to start considering candidates for my Top Ten Hot Sites of 2007; something that doesn’t automatically exclude the prior year’s winners. The way I see it, if a site can maintain or especially improve upon its sizzle factor from one year to the next, then it absolutely deserves to remain on Sir Randy’s year end listing of top sites.
So last week I began to revisit 2006’s top sites. I started with Gay Video Box, only to discover that it has undergone a few changes since last I was poking around it. It is now known as Video Box Men—I’m not really sure why “Gay” was dropped and “Men” added (maybe to avoid confusing and/or disappointing lesbians?)—and along with that name change comes a few improvements to the site, too. Not surprisingly, the number of dvd titles has increased (over 540 at last count), no doubt at least partially as a result of adding some new studios to the already impressive roster of talent. And the “User Reviews” section comes with new layout, edit and delete features; while reviews are now sorted by the ever friendly thumbs up and not-so-friendly thumbs down symbols.
Browsing through some of the new content available at Video Box Men left me one happy (not to mention horny) camper, I’m glad to report. It’s such a dream to narrow down what it is you are looking for thanks to scanning the studios, series and popular stars options; more so by the many, many, many categories you can explore.
And despite all the changes to Video Box Men, the price has remained the same. The basic package is an amazing $9.95 per month but for $5 more (or $14.95) you can upgrade to the worth-every-penny premium package. That’s a lot of bang for your buck!
Coming soon will be my thoughts “a year later” on other top 2006 sites Men at Play, Latin Boyz, and Horny Boy. Here’s hoping that my walk down memory lane continues to be a memorable one for all the right reasons!
