Little Children’s Big Stud
Every once in a while I watch a film for one reason and end up enjoying it for a unexpectedly different one altogether. Normally when this happens, there’s a man to blame.
The latest example of this happening involves the film, Little Children. Released in 2006, it was a film that I had read some very good reviews for, and even when it was nominated for a few Oscars—including one for 5 time Academy Award nominee, the always wonderful Kate Winslet–I somehow managed to not get my ass into a theater to see it. Shame on me.
So when I was recently at the DVD store and noticed this title on the shelf, I jumped at the opportunity to rent it. Little (no pun intended) did I know at the time that I would develop an immediate (but always harmless) crush on the film’s lead actor, super yummy-delicious Patrick Wilson (who plays Brad). Man is this guy hot! And with the kind of smile that if on the receiving end of, would cause anyone to lose their ability to form even the simplest of sentences.
Almost immediately seeing him on screen I was reminded of my first cinematic exposure to the 34 year-old Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor, when I rented the phenomenal Angels in America a few years back. In that HBO film/mini-series, he portrayed Joe Pitt, a Mormon lawyer struggling with (and then thankfully surrendering to) his desire for men. He gave a great performance and I’m sure every gay man was on the edge of his seat waiting for Patrick’s character to get fully in touch with his homo self.
In Little Children his character is 100% straight, but there are plenty of scenes for his gay fans to get hot and bothered over. While watching him poolside with his shirt off gets the party started it’s his sex scenes in the laundry room with lucky Kate that you’ll be tempted to replay over and over. Such an athletic body, such a beautifully muscular ass, oh my…oh…oh…oh yeah, the film is extremely well made, too, so check it (and him) out when you can.
For many reasons, the talented Patrick Wilson in one actor I’ll be keeping an eye on in the future. Have a look and you’ll see what I mean.
Cheers!
